1. Who we are

KnowStash (“the service”, “we”, “us”) is operated by KnowStash S.R.L., a company registered in Romania. You can reach us any time at support@knowstash.ai. These terms are a contract between KnowStash S.R.L. and you, and apply to the website (knowstash.ai), the web app, and the KnowStash browser extension (the YouTube companion).

2. What the service does

KnowStash lets you fetch and index YouTube videos you choose (“stashing”), generate AI-written notes from them, organize those notes in a library, and set up monitors that repeat this automatically for searches, channels, or playlists you pick. The service is currently in beta: features may change, and occasional rough edges are part of the deal. We fix them quickly.

3. Your account

• You need an account (email + password, or Google sign-in) to use the service. Keep your credentials to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility.
• You must be at least 16 years old, and provide accurate information.
• One account per person. Don't share, sell, or transfer accounts.
• You can delete your account and its data at any time from the Account page, or by emailing us.

4. Hours, credits, and prices

• Usage is metered in credits, and one credit is one hour of video. Credits are a prepaid unit of usage, not money: they are non-transferable, hold no cash value outside the service, and can't be exchanged between accounts.
• You buy credits up front, as a pack of 10, 20 or 50 credits or as the Team plan, at the price per credit published on the pricing page. There is no subscription: nothing renews, and we never charge you after the fact. The minimum purchase is 10 hours.
• Credits expire. Every grant carries a validity window, published on the pricing page: a pack is valid 3 months from the purchase, Team plan credits for the plan's year, the free signup credits one month, and, for accounts that still hold them, credits from the earlier monthly plans 90 days from each grant and earlier top-ups 180 days. Spending always uses the credits that expire soonest, and your account page lists every batch with its date. Credits we grant by hand (support gestures, refunds in credit) do not expire unless we say so when granting them. If we change these windows, the change is published on the pricing page and notified to you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and applies only to credits granted or purchased after that date.
• Promotions. We may price a pack below the sticker or grant bonus credits with a purchase for a stated period (the launch promotion, until 31 December 2026, prices the 10-credit pack at $10 / €10 and adds 50% bonus credits to the 20 and 50 packs and the Team plan). Bonus credits are free, carry the same validity as the purchase they came with, and are removed if that purchase is refunded. A promotion ends on its stated date; the sticker price per credit does not change when it does.
• The price of every action is shown in the app before you run it, and a per-action spend history is always available in your account.
• The Team plan is a purchase of 100 to 500 credits in steps of 100, paid once, valid one year, that opens a shared workspace owned by the buyer. Team members act within the owner's workspace: the library, queues, monitors, collections, prompts and credit balance are the owner's and are shared with every member the owner invites. Only the owner can buy or manage billing, invite or remove members, or disband the team; the owner is responsible for the members' use of the shared workspace and credits. We send the owner a reminder 30 days before the year ends; nothing renews on its own. When the package lapses, members lose access to the shared workspace until the owner renews it or removes them (which restores their own workspace); the owner keeps access. Buying the Team plan again extends it by one year from its current end. Seats above the published cap and amounts above 500 credits are agreed individually with us.
• Earlier monthly plans. If you subscribed before 10 September 2026, your plan keeps renewing and granting its credits until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from the Account page; the plan and its credits remain until the end of the paid period. No new monthly plans are sold.
• Prices may change. A change never applies to credits you already hold, and it is published on the pricing page before it takes effect.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record. Paddle runs the checkout, stores payment details, applies VAT or sales tax, and issues invoices. Prices are shown before tax; VAT or sales tax is added at checkout, and a business with a valid EU VAT ID pays the net price. Your card details never reach our servers. By purchasing you also accept Paddle's checkout terms. Purchased credits appear in your balance within moments of the payment confirming; if they ever don't, we make it right. Just write to us.

6. Refunds

Every purchase is covered by our refund policy, headlined by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Statutory rights, including EU consumer withdrawal rights, remain unaffected.

7. Fair and acceptable use

• Use the service for its purpose: turning videos you have legitimate access to into notes for yourself (or your team, on a team arrangement).
• Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service, and don't resell it or offer it as your own.
• Don't use the service to violate any law or the rights of others, or to generate content designed to harass or defame.
• Your use of YouTube through KnowStash must also respect YouTube's own terms of service.
• We may throttle or suspend accounts that abuse the service or its pricing; we'll always tell you why.

8. Your content and your notes

• Your notes belong to you. We claim no ownership over the notes, prompts, collections, or anything else you create.
• You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service: storing and processing your content, and passing the relevant material to our AI providers to generate the notes you request.
• If you share a note with a public link, anyone with the link can read it until you revoke it.

9. AI output: a candid note

Notes are written by AI from the video's content. They are usually excellent and occasionally wrong: models can mishear, compress too aggressively, or state things with confidence that the video didn't quite say. Verify anything important against the source. Notes are not professional, financial, medical, or legal advice, including notes generated from finance or news channels.

10. Third-party content

Videos on YouTube belong to their creators. KnowStash processes them at your request to produce notes for your own use; we are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, YouTube or Google, or any channel mentioned in our examples. If you are a rights holder and believe content is being misused through the service, contact support@knowstash.ai and we'll respond promptly.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service up and reliable, but it's provided without an uptime guarantee: dependencies (YouTube, AI providers, payment and cloud infrastructure) can hiccup. We may add, change, or retire features; if a change materially reduces what your purchase gives you, we'll tell you before it lands and you can ask for a refund of the credits you have not spent.

12. Termination

You can leave at any time (Account → delete data, or email us). We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice explaining why unless the breach makes that impossible. Sections that by their nature outlive the contract (ownership, liability, governing law) survive termination.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows: the service is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages; and our total liability for claims arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protections of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring disputes before your local courts. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll notify you (email or an in-app notice) before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. The “last updated” date at the top always tells you the current version.
